About Claudio Klaus
Claudio Antonio Klaus Junior, who publishes as Claudio Klaus, is a lawyer admitted to practise in Ontario, Canada and in Brazil, an associate at Northview Law, and the host of the Studying Law Around the World podcast. His work brings together three connected threads: a corporate and commercial practice, a podcast about how legal careers develop across jurisdictions, and doctoral research on how administrative law shapes public services.
Across all three, the same question keeps returning: how does legal work translate from one system to another? How lawyers move between jurisdictions, what regulation makes of that movement, and how knowledge built in one legal culture can be put to use in another.

Legal practice and professional background
Corporate and commercial work, commercial real estate, and nonprofit organizations.
Claudio is an associate at Northview Law, where his practice covers corporate and commercial matters, commercial real estate, and matters involving nonprofit organizations. He is admitted to practise in Ontario, Canada and in Brazil.
His early career in Brazil was in procedural and administrative law, including a judicial clerkship, and he taught business law at the university level. That foundation in registry practice, contract analysis, and administrative procedure still shapes how he works today.
In Ontario he has also worked at Atasoy Law and at the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, with work on corporate and commercial files, commercial real estate matters, charities law research, and appearances before the Landlord and Tenant Board and Small Claims Court.
His U.S. experience came through academic programs and a legal externship in Arizona. He has not been admitted to practise law in the United States.

Studying Law Around the World
A podcast about legal education, professional journeys, and practising law in different jurisdictions.
Claudio created and hosts Studying Law Around the World, a podcast about legal education, professional journeys, and the experience of lawyers across different jurisdictions. Each episode is a conversation with a lawyer, judge, professor, or student about how their career actually took shape, including the detours and the decisions behind it.
This website is the home of the show. It adds transcripts, learning tracks, and a continuing professional development tracker for listeners who want to work through the conversations as a curriculum rather than an archive.
Community involvement and professional leadership
Projects that make legal careers easier to understand from the inside.
Claudio created the University of Toronto 75 Lawyers project, a series of structured conversations with 75 senior lawyers across Canada. The project was produced with the Faculty of Law to mark 75 years of modern legal education at U of T, and it shares the career paths of those lawyers with students who are trying to see what is possible in the profession.
His wider interests are connecting legal communities, supporting internationally trained lawyers, and making legal career knowledge more accessible. He writes and speaks about cross-border careers, legal education, and the practical side of moving a legal career between countries.
